FBI.GOV Goes Mobile
June 1, 2012 – The FBI Launched it’s first mobile-friendly website designed specifically for smartphones. Built with HTML5, AJAX, and JavaScript, it features most of the content from the main FBI.gov site. Sub sites like FBIJobs.gov and the Vault (vault.fbi.gov)—along with some pages that are not easily viewable on mobile devices—are not included but can still be viewed on smartphones in the full versions.
Among other features, the mobile site includes:
- Navigation menus that open with a single click;
- An easy-to-use search bar;
- A rotating slider with the latest news; and
- Easily scrollable lists of wanted fugitives and missing kids.
May 25th – National Missing Children’s Day
May 25, 2012 – Today, in observance of National Missing Children’s Day, the FBI launched a new version of their Child ID App built specifically for Android mobile phones. The application can be downloaded for free from the Android Apps section of Google Play. Click here for more information.
